So
following my previous post, I mentioned something about some natural caves in
Colombia. Well, to follow up on that I will be telling you a little bit more
about those caves. The particular cave I went into is called “La Cueva Del Indio” which translates the natives cave. Indigenous people
used to live in these caves as a shelter to protect them for them hot weather,
not only is the cave safe but it also provided them with clean water since it
is the mother of a River named Agustino. After many years the spanish army
eventually took over the land and little by little the tribe disappeared.
Barichara is the town where this particular case is located on, and some people
still follow the ancient traditions of these indigenous people that once walked
among their streets.

I
loved this cave, i mean walking through the darkness wearing a helmet with a
flashlight on it and life jacket. Following the guide and looking at rare
animals like bats, scorpions, giant centipedes and having to crawl through
small and tight holes to get to the other side of the cave and sometimes even
jumping 20 feet into the darkness to land on a black pond of water where you
don't even know what creatures rule those waters. Walking on the edge of rocks
holding on to small rocks behind you so you don’t fall down the unknown. This was so far one of my favourite
adventures, definitely recommend it.
